Welcome to the TCD Green Pages website. Here you will find information on environmental protection, waste management and recycling in College, helpful hints on making the college and global environment a cleaner and greener place to live, links to other environmental websites and much more.
It is official College policy to dispose of waste in a responsible and legal manner and to encourage the reduction of waste and promote recycling throughout college. The policy can be viewed by clicking on the following link: College policy on Waste Management and Recycling on Campus
Recycling - 50% Target
We are now recycling 50% of our Campus waste through segregation at source. Approximately 50% of the waste collected by our contractors is segregated for recycling at their plants. To improve upon this achievement we need the continued co-operation of all members of the College Community.
In particular please:
Segregate your waste and put recyclables into the designated container.
If some items which you feel could be recycled are not being recycled in your building contact David Hackett at ext 1630 for advice. Do not contaminate recyclables with general waste.
Housekeeping Staff.
Your local Housekeeping staff member plays a crucial role in making the recycling scheme work efficiently. Please help her/him by:
- Not overloading recycling bags and boxes.
- Discussing local recycling issues – can the system be improved and made more ‘user friendly’?
