Trinity College is an acknowledged institute for the Certificate of Dutch as a Foreign Language, which is examines each year in early May. The CNaVT is an internationally recognised certificate, with six different socially relevant profiles. This 3 lesson preparation course will provisionally focus on three of these. The course is run according to demand and the exam profiles provisionally selected are 

• Tourist and informal language (PTIT): for those wishing to maintain social contacts with Dutch-speaking family or friends or for those wishing to use the language when visiting a dutch-speaking country as a tourist.• Social language (PMT): for those with an interest in Dutch language (and culture) and who wish to understand Dutch texts and spoken language such as, for example, newspaper articles and news broadcasts, as well as for those who wish to learn Dutch in order to enable them to live in a Dutch-speaking area for prolonged period of time.• Professional language (PPT): for those who need Dutch for administrative jobs, such as office worker, sales rep, travel agent, call centre agent and receptionist. This year’s preparation course will be taught on 3 evenings in late April and early May 2011 from 7 to 8.30 (dates to be determined with exam participants). The exam alone costs 55 euro, the cost of the exam plus 3 preparation classes: TBA. If you wish to apply for the exam only please contact Alice at schuttea@tcd.ie. The CNaVT exam will take place on TBA / date in May 2011.
