Geoff Clayton at the Logan Hollow Section on the AASP / CIMP field trip, Kentucky July 2012. A granitic glacial dropstone of early Ordovician age rests within the black Ohio Shales of the Late Devonian age. The shales are assigned to the palynological LN Biozone and the occurrence of the dropstone is excellent evidence for deglaciation at this time
