Key specifications

193nm ATLex 300si powered laser ablation device (<4 ns pulse length, 1-300 Hz repetition rate). Beam delivery fully homogenised and delivering long focal length, 30 spots ranging in size from 2 to 160 microns. Equipped with fast wash-out (<2 sec), two-volume HELEX cell and accurate (1 micron) stage travel.

Additional information

Used for in situ analysis of samples by ICP-MS, trace element imaging and U/Pb in situ geochronology.
