Applying to join the TCD Erasmus/European Exchange Programme
Applications are made in February - see International Office on-line application form and detailed instructions.
When your form is ready to be signed, email Dr Mark Hennessy - Geography Erasmus Academic Coordinator - to arrange a time for him to meet with you and sign the printed paper copy, authorising your participation in the Erasmus programme. This can then be handed in to the International Office who will acknowledge the request, allowing students to apply for EU funding to go abroad as part of an Erasmus exchange.
In the case of TSM students, the form must be signed by the Academic Coordinators in both Departments.
Please note that the 'TCD Erasmus/European Exchange Application form' which you submit online and hand into the International Office in Trinity is not an application for the host university (see below).
Applying to your host university
Once you have the permission of your Department to participate in the Erasmus programme, Dr Hennessy can provide information on the host universities, with further information on your host university/host country available from Student Reports. In preparation, you should also check the website of your preferred host university for available courses and general information.
When you receive notification that you have been accepted on the Erasums exchange programme, you should contact Dr. Hennessy who will send you the contact information for the University Officer in your potential exchange.
You must get in contact with the prospective receiving institution for full details of available courses, application dates and procedures, accommodation and.general information for incoming students. That person will provide an application form for you, which you must complete and return. They will then be able to guide you through the process in their school.
Notes
- Exchanges can be for one semester or one year.
- Places are limited in each exchange.
- You must undertake a course of at least 45 ECTS credits while abroad.
