Inaugral Geography Society of Ireland Awards Ceremony

The first Annual GSI Awards ceremony took place in the Royal Irish Academy on Friday, 20th April, 2012 with two awards coming TCD's way:

• Lifetime Contribution Award: Professor Joseph Haughton (Emeritus Professor, TCD)
  
  
• Book of the Year 2012: The New Scramble for Africa (Polity Press, 2011) by Dr Padraig Carmody (TCD)

Congratulations to both Professor Haughton and Dr Carmody.
