There is an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) which lists the books in the Freeman Library. It is available from any web connection inside the TCD Local domain.
NB - R beside a shelf number means that the book is in the Reserve Collection. Please ask the Librarians if you want to consult any of these. B beside a shelf number means it is available for loan.
Instructions on use:
- FIND: For a simple search, type in the begining of a search term such as Author, Title or Subject e.g. "environment" will bring you a list of references with "environment", "environments" and "environmental". Click on GO. Alternatively click on the ? icon to bring up the dictionary and find the closest matches to your search term and choose one.
- SEARCH: This allows a Boolean Logic search with operators such as AND, OR and NOT so that you can limit your initial search. e.g. click on the Search tab and enter the term "urban". There are more than 100 references in the result. Click on the small search window and choose AND. Enter "renewal" in the second window now provided. This will limit your search to a short list of more specific references.
- IDENTIFY: This is used to find only exact matches of the search term you have entered so it will return a more precise and shorter list than the FIND option.
