Prof Seamus Martin
Director of Postgraduate Teaching and Learning
Postgraduate training in this department is exclusively by research. We have no taught Master's programme.
If you wish to do a Ph.D. in this department you must in the first instance identify a supervisor who is willing to take you on. Please do this by making email contact with the supervisor you wish to work under.
Details of research projects are available from individual members of the academic staff.
Progress in the postgraduate education programme is monitored through thesis planning meetings (at 9 months) and PhD confirmation reports (at 18 months).
Postgraduate students are required to present seminars and to attend presentations in the Department's seminar programme. They are also strongly encouraged to attend national and international scientific conferences.
Further details can be found in our postgraduate booklet (PDF document, 195 KB).
