RESEARCH INTEREST:

I am interested in population genetics and genomics of different organisms, specifically in all the mechanisms that shape the genetic diversity from natural selection to demographic events. I am currently working on several organisms including humans, cattle, goats and sharks. Specifically, I am interested in developing and applying models which take population structure into account. Populations are rarely fully isolated but they exchange migrants and they are often structured into sub-populations. These models (meta-population models) are able to capture the relationships between sampled and unsampled populations and to estimate the level of connectivity through time.
