Anthony McGrath B.A. (NUI Cork) M. Phil. (Dublin)
Anthony McGrath studied English and Philosophy at University College Cork, gaining a first class degree in 2004. He went on to take an M.Phil. (with Distinction) in Anglo-Irish Literature at Trinity College Dublin in 2009. As an M.Phil.student, Anthony completed a thesis on Beckett and Low Church Christianity under the supervision of Professor Terence Brown.
In 2005 Anthony worked as a tutor in the Department of Philosophy at University College Cork and over the last six years he has taught philosophy in Waterford City.
Anthony is currently researching intertextual links between the philosophy of Schopenhauer and the critical and creative writings of Samuel Beckett under the supervision of Professor Sam Slote.
In 2010-11, Anthony tutored on the SF ‘Shakespeare: Text, Stage, Screen’ course.
