Faith

Ask no question, fools have queried
Intellect in child-curiosity - 
Queried vaguely, impertinent:
     What is Time
     And Life?
And: Do the lower animals imagine God?

There are no chinks in Eternity's door
(Platitude)
But someplace high up the Wall is a small window - 
(Youth idea)
Window Faith that throws excitingly on the dream-hills
Shadows, the shadows of the Arrived.
(Revelation)

The lofts of Reason are up stone stairs - 
Futility cobwebbed stairs - 
The climbers mount patiently.
May this roof of Reason's loft be cracked.
There be star-light.
