Irish LabVIEW User Group Inaugural Meeting Held in Parsons Building
12 October 2012
The Dept of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering hosted the inaugural meeting of the Irish LabVIEW User Group on Friday, Oct 5th, in Parsons Building. The one-day conference event, chaired by Prof. Garret O’Donnell and Paul Normoyle, brought together 25 LabVIEW software users from academia and industry in Ireland. Attendees heard presentations covering high-end research and engineering teaching applications from colleagues working at UL, DCU, UCD, and TCD. Graham Green (Regional Academic Marketing Engineer at National Instruments) gave the opening keynote presentation on NI technology as an innovation enabler. Research presenters included Dr Edin Omerdic (University of Limerick) who spoke on LabVIEW control of submersible marine survey robots. NI staff illustrated control applications from industry in the UK, and demonstrated some of the latest NI technology during the coffee and lunch breaks. A user group website was launched to give information on future meetings. https://decibel.ni.com/content/groups/irish-labview-users.
