15 School of Engineering Students Awarded Trinity Sports Scholarships

Congratulations to the 15 students from the School of Engineering who received Trinity Sports Scholarships at an award ceremony held in December:

Brian Du Toit 4th year Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Rugby
Josh Fallon-Doran 3rd year Biomedical Engineering Rugby
Patrick Finlay 2nd year Engineering Rugby
Ian Kinsley 1st year Engineering Rugby
Jennifer Long 2nd year Engineering Hockey
Nick McCarthy 4th year Engineering with Management Rugby
Paul McPadden MAI Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering Gaelic Football
Sally O'Brien 3rd year Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Rowing
Michael O'Grady 4th year Biomedical Engineering Gaelic Football
Eric O'Sullivan 1st year Engineering with Management Rugby
Aisling Smith 4th year Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Kayak
George Walsh MAI Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Rugby

A total of 61 Scholarships were awarded with 12 sports represented in this year’s list of awards. The current outstanding performances of Trinity Rugby is reflected in the fact that 30 students from the club were awarded a Sports Scholarship. 

Speaking at the event, Head of Sport at Trinity, Michelle Tanner highlighted: “Sport at Trinity is in a strong position and this evening’s awards are testament to this.  We are about to launch a Strategy for Sport that maps out a new and exciting journey for the development of sport in College.  In this we are embracing change, making brave decisions and challenging the norm but the end result will better position sport alongside Trinity’s academic strengths, as Ireland’s premier university.”
