Associate Professor Roger West awarded best paper at Civil Engineering Research in Ireland Conference 2016

At the biennial Civil Engineering Research in Ireland 2016 (CERI2016) conference held this week at NUI Galway, Associate Professor Roger West was awarded the prize for best overall paper on his research work on bamboo-epoxy composite frame structures. This paper reports on part of a collaborative research project with Prof Suresh Bhalla and PhD student Diwakar Bhagat in IIT Delhi.

Over the two day conference, almost 120 papers from a broad range of topics in Civil Engineering were presented, including bridge engineering; concrete technology; geotechnical engineering; environmental engineering; pedagogy in civil engineering; structural engineering; timber and other civil engineering materials and technologies.
The Civil Engineering Research in Ireland 2016 (CERI2016) conference was hosted by the National University of Ireland Galway from 29-30th August 2016.
