Postgraduate Ussher Fellowships

This Faculty Fellowship covers EU and non-EU fees and provides an annual maintenance of €16,000 for three years (paid monthly). It is available to new entrants to the full-time Ph.D. register and is awarded competitively on academic merit by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. 

Application Process

There is no separate application form for this award, students must apply online using tcd.ie/courses in conjunction with their application to study with the School of Education.

Deadline
The deadline for application for School of Education nominations to this College award is 1st May 2014. However, the application will require the approval of a potential supervisor before the applicant can be accepted by the College. Consequently, intending applicants must discuss research ideas with potential supervisors before making a formal application for admission. It is therefore advised that applicants contact the School by April 1st in order to secure a supervisor.

Results are normally announced mid June.

Postgraduate Research Studentships

General Information
This Studentship covers EU and non-EU fees and provides an annual maintenance of €8,000 for three years (paid monthly). It is available to both new entrants and continuing students on the full-time Ph.D. register and is awarded competitively on academic merit. Studentship holders are required to engage in teaching-related activities, as advised by the Head of School and/or the School’s Director of Teaching and Learning (Postgraduate) to a maximum of 6 hours per week in teaching term.

Application Process

New students: There is no separate application form for this award, students must apply via this web portal in conjunction with their application to study with the School of Education.

Continuing students: Studentships are open to new entrants to the full-time Ph.D. register as well as continuing students in a given academic year. application form

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend for interview/short presentation.

School of Education Post-doctoral Research Associate bursaries

For the 2014/15 period two bursaries will be awarded for a period of six months each to enable a recent Ph.D. or D.Ed. Graduate bring an academic paper to journal submission stage and to attend an international conference[which may occur outside the six month period of the award].

Deadline

1st May 2014

Each bursary is worth up to €1,800 and the deadline for applications for the coming academic year is Thursday May 1st, 2014.
In order to apply please draft a Personal Statement which also indicates the Paper you envisage writing and the Conference you might attend, and submit a hard copy to the PGR Officer Lian McGuire, Room 3128, School of Education, by the above deadline.
