How the course works
The course focuses on the integration of ICTs for teaching and learning within the context of the post-primary curriculum. It aims to incorporate theoretical and practical aspects including the rationale for using ICTs in education, the learning theories that underpin the use of ICTs, ICT policy, as well as current and potential use of ICTs for teaching and learning.
The course will facilitate participants in creating learning activities that incorporate some use of ICTs, and producing sample artefacts including presentations, desktop publications, website evaluations and WebQuests.
The course is provided online and supplemented by sessions based in the computer lab. It is structured into a number of units, which participants will work through, completing the tasks and activities associated with each unit.
