It has a maximum audience capacity of 208. It has a total floor area of 24 metres x 13 metres, including a stage area of 13 metres x 13 metres when used in an end-on configuration. It has excellent state-of-the art lighting and sound facilities and professional technical and administrative support. Outside term time, the theatre is hired out on a fixed fee basis to touring theatre and dance companies. Hires are inclusive of front-of-house and box office staffing, the use of changing rooms with showers and toilets and the support of technical staff to assist with get-in. The theatre is situated in the central landmark location of Trinity College Dublin, close to all Dublin city centre bus, rail, DART and Luas stops.
Rehearsal Spaces
In addition to the theatre, the Department of Drama has a bright, attractive Dance Studio rehearsal space on the top floor of the Samuel Beckett Centre. It measures 11 metres x 11 metres and has a maple floor and mirror wall. This and two smaller rehearsal spaces can also be hired by outside theatre and dance companies during University vacation time.
