Academic Roundtable on Civic Engagement

On Thursday 29th of October, Professor Robert Bringle, Executive Director of Indiana University-Purdue University's Center for Service and Learning visitted Trinity to meet with key figures in the University to discuss the development of civic engagement, community service and service learning at TCD. Professor Bringle was in Ireland as Visiting Scholar with the Campus Engage network. Campus Engage is a national network for the promotion of civic engagement activities in Irish higher education. It aims to strengthen the relationship between higher education and the wider society, through promoting civic engagement activities in higher education in Ireland and facilitating the sharing of knowledge and resources between academic and civic communities.

Professor Bringle held a roundtable discussion with TCD academics who expressed interest in the areas of service learning and civic engagement.
