Trinity College Dublin’s postgraduate business programmes have performed strongly in the latest rankings for higher education institutions in western Europe, beating top quality competition in Ireland and the UK.

The Eduniversal Best Masters 2014 rankings, which rates institutions’ business schools, placed the Trinity Business School’s full-time MBA programme in 12th position making it the top-ranked full-time MBA in Ireland. The same rankings place Cambridge Judge Business School at 13th position and University College Dublin’s Smurfit School of Business in 19th place.

Trinity Business School’s new part-time MBA is ranked, for the first time, in 7th place — ahead of the business schools at both Oxford and Cambridge. UCD Smurfit is placed in 28th position while Dublin City University Business School is ranked in 41st place.

Dr Jim Quinn, Head of Trinity’s School of Business, said the latest rankings show Trinity to be now well established among the leading higher education institutions in western Europe in terms of the quality of business programmes offered to postgraduates.

“These rankings, measured on reputation, graduate salary levels, and student satisfaction, show that Trinity’s postgraduate programmes are held in high esteem. Trinity’s School of Business is outperforming the business schools of many of the competitors, and our sharp rise in this year’s scores is directly linked to our research-led approach to teaching and world-class academics at the frontiers of their discipline,” said Dr Quinn.

The Eduniversal Best Masters 2014 rankings follow the New York Times’ Global Employability University Ranking in October which placed Trinity in the top 150 global universities employers rated most highly. Trinity was the only Irish university to make that list.
