Bollywood Blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger, to be Filmed at TCD

A spectacular Bollywood movie with all the usual elements of music and dance will be filmed at Trinity College Dublin this month using the historic buildings of Parliament Square, the Rubrics and the broadwalk by College Park as its backdrop. Called Ek Tha Tiger, the film is being directed by renowned Indian director Kabir Khan.

Filming for the production has already taken place in India and Turkey. Over the course of three filming days scheduled to take place at Trinity College Dublin, the cast and crew will be working at numerous locations around the University which will include a large open-air dance sequences involving 50 dancers in Parliament Square, as well as scenes outside the Rubrics and at College Park.

Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will play the lead roles of Tiger and Zoya, a secret agent and a dance student whose paths cross leading them on a rollercoaster journey that takes them from Dublin to Istanbul, Kazakhstan and Chile. The film will showcase Trinity College’s historic and picturesque campus as the protagonists lives become interlinked and romance blossoms around the University and Dublin city centre.

Delivering a large scale movie requires cooperation from the entire College community. Although the College will remain open for services during the days of filming there will be some disruption in the areas where scenes are being filmed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will update information regarding local restrictions should they occur. Further information relating to local restrictions during the filming dates at TCD is available here.
