DU Classical Society
Having hosted influential scholars from institutions all over the world, and as one of Trinity College Dublin's oldest societies, at first glance you may be forgiven for thinking TCD Classical Society is all tonic and no gin. Indeed, we try our best to provide the ideal supplement for departmental courses. However, many a student (and indeed guest speaker) have been lured into our popular post-lecture wine and cheese receptions.
Each year we travel to areas of particular interest abroad, recent destinations including Barcelona, Rome and Pompeii. We hold film nights, pub crawls, colloquiums for our members to read out their essays and works, and of course the occasional Toga party. Awarded 'Best Small Society' by the the CSC in 2012, we boast over 300 members belonging to every faculty in college.
