No time like the present to start thinking about what you would like to do with your life and planning to make it happen!
- Attend the 'Moving Forward' workshop with your Careers Adviser in Michaelmas Term. Generally a one hour session targeted at Senior Sophisters. Topics include making the best use of recruitment events during term, applying for postgraduate study and taking time out.
- Attend Careers Week workshop in Michaelmas Term
- Use the suggested "Starting Points" leaflet to direct you towards the resources relevant to your situation.
- Start planning your career using the SODA model in Plan Your Career. Included on this page we recommend you also use:
- Destinations® (Only available to TCD students and graduates). An online sequence of activities and exercises that lead Senior Frensh to Postgraduate students through the self-assessment and career planning process.
- Prospects Planner - which has a database of several hundred jobs and will generate more career options.
Bring a copy of your profiles, which you can print out when you complete the assessment, to your meeting with your Careers Adviser.

Thinking of studying in the USA?
- Apply for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) if you are applying to Graduate Schools in the US in September.
- Apply for the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) if you are applying to Graduate School of Management.
- Applications need to be submitted to the US University in the December before starting study.
