"Profiling for Success" - Online Personality & Ability Assessments

A series of online psychometric tests entitled "Profiling for Success " is available to Trinity College students and staff, and graduates of three years. A TCD username and password is required to access these assessments - Graduates can access the assessments by using the computers in the Careers Information Centre in 7-9 South Leinster St. Please read "Charges for Services to Graduates".

Assessments available through "Profiling for Success" are -

  • Learning Styles Indicator questionnaire
The Learning Styles Indicator identifies fundamental differences in the way people think, communicate and learn. A report will be generated with feedback on your own learning style and some suggestions on how to develop your effectiveness as a learner. This could be helpful to you in planning your personal development.
  • Type Dynamics Indicator (TDI) personality type questionnaire
The TDI will generate a career report identifying your own preferred behaviour and some fundamental ways in which you differ from other people and some suggestions for areas of personal development.
  • Numerical Reasoning Skills Test
  • Verbal Reasoning Skills Test
  • Abstract Reasoning Skills Test

The last 3 Tests will give you some information on your abilities in areas which many recruiters consider to be important in graduate jobs - taking these tests will enable you to practice the kinds of tests which are often used in selection and to receive feedback on how to improve your performance.

Provided by occupational psychologists Team Focus, the "Profiling for Success" package of personality and reasoning tests provides both students and graduates with a set of resources for Personal Development and Career Planning. The assessments may either be taken directly or as part of a short online self-assessment module.

You can take the assessments in two ways -

1. Take the assessments as part of the "Profiling for Success" Personal Assessment Programme

A link will take you to a series of pages designed to help you understand how to use these assessments as part of a Personal Development or Career Planning process. You will be given links to individual assessments at appropriate points in this short self-assessment module.
