Recent Graduates - How to Contact Us - Book an Appointment


Recent graduates eligible to book an appointment:

  • Undergraduate students until 31st August of the year they finish their final exams.
  • Postgraduate taught students until 30th November.
  • Postgraduate students for 3 months after they submit their postgraduate thesis.

If you can no longer login to MyCareer as a student, but are within the eligibility period above, you can contact us directly to make an appointment. Follow the steps below:

  1. Firstly fill in the appointment form
  2. Email the completed form to (don't forget to fill in page 2!)
  3. Wait 30-60 mins then phone 01 896 1721 to make an appointment - this gives us a chance to review / print off the form! Have your diary on had to check mutually convenient times.
  4. You can also call into our office in 7-9 South Leinster St to make an appointment.

If you are a graduate and fall outside the eligibility period above, we are unable to provide an individualised advisory appointment service at this time.


How do I make the most of my appointment?
There are several steps you can take in advance of your appointment to make the most out of it. For example:

What if I want to discuss my CV or a job application?

As all the preparation is done in advance of your meeting you must attach a copy of the document that you would like reviewed at at the time of booking your appointment.

Regarding your CV, you also have the option of attending one of our Drop-In CV Clinics that run weekly - see our Events page for dates and times.

How long does a careers appointment last?

An appointment is for 20 minutes.

What are the times of the appointments?

Appointments are available during regular working hours and throughout the holidays.

What if I can't make the standard appointment times?

Phone us on 01 896 1721 and we can discuss other options/times.

How long do I have to wait for an appointment?

It depends, normally 2-3 working days. It might be longer during the holiday period.

All my concerns were not addressed in the first guidance meeting. What can I do?

If you find you still have further questions or more to discuss, you can always book another 20 minute Next Step Appointment with your Careers Consultant after 28 days have passed or agree a date with us in person or by phone 01 896 1721.

Where do the meetings take place?

In our offices at 7-9 South Leinster Street (just off campus). Please check in at the Reception when you arrive. We can also conduct these appointments via telephone or Skype if you would prefer.

Is there a charge for this meeting?

Not if you are an eligible recent graduate and this is a standard careers advisory appointment.

How do I cancel my appointment?

You can cancel your appointment by phoning us on 01 896 1721

Must I meet the Careers Consultant for my area, eg I am studying Physics but would like to discuss moving into Finance.

All the Careers Consultants are caseload specific, so if you are studying e.g. Physics you will see the consultant for Physics. But all the Careers Consultants have a broad knowledge of all subjects.
