E-learning Projects

Since 1999, the Centre for Learning Project has provided support in developing e-learning projects through the Learning Innovation Project Program in collaboration with Academic Practice. A project can be thought of as a planned design, development, deployment and evaluation of a learning innovation in one or more of the following areas:

  • Curriculum design;
  • E-Learning or Learning with Information Communication Technology;
  • Assessment methods; and/or
  • Teaching and Learning Methodology.

Consultancies

CLT offers advice and professional development to academics interested in e-learning. Over the years, CLT has provided consultancy to academics across all faculties. In addition, we provide support to Broad Curriculum courses and Bologna projects involving technology.. If you would like to find out how CLT might be of service to you, please contact a member of the CLT team.

WebCT

To facilitate academics in enhancing student learning through the use of best practice in eLearning, CLT uses the Virtual Learning Environment, WebCT, Campus Edition 4.1. WebCT allow lecturers to create an interactive learning environment for their students through the design and development of web-based courses within WebCT.

If you wish to create a course space within WebCT, please submit a request to the Centre for Learning Technology by email [clt@tcd.ie] or contact a member of our team.

Showcase

Department: Geography

The Virtual Fieldtrip project is currently under development by CLT in collaboration with the Department of Geography. The first iteration was launched in March, 2004 for students, enrolled in Ireland's Changing Landscapes a Broad Curriculum course. The Glendalough Virtual Fieldtrip is the first of 12 in development. During this trip, students explore the geological, geomorphological and cultural elements of Glendalough, encompassing over 450 million years of Earth history.
