Dr. Ciara O' Farrell
Ciara is the Senior Academic Developer in CAPSL. Ciara holds a PhD in English from University College Dublin. Ms. Theresa Logan-Phelan
Theresa's main role is to promote eLearning and the use of technology in quality teaching and learning in Trinity. Responsiblities include supporting the College’s Virtual Learning Enviornments (VLEs), while ensuring access for students and staff. The role of the Centre is to collaborate and advise on issues of policy, structure and future developments and innovations in technology enhanced learning (TEL) within the College Theresa holds a MSc. IT in Education (TCD). Her areas of interest include the uptake and usage of VLEs' in Irish Tertiary Education, technology and innovation for quality learning, digital media in higher education and collaboration within higher education to promote excellence. |
Ms. Jade Elizabeth Concannon Jade has been the Executive Officer in Academic Practice since 2005, co-ordinating their workshops and events for Academic Staff and supporting the Senior Academic Developer. Jade also organises the Teaching and Supporting Learning Module for Postgraduate Students who are teaching and manages the Provost's Teaching Awards. Jade holds a BSc in Applied Computing from Waterford Institute of Technology and has previously worked as a Postgraduate Research Officer in DCU. |
Ms. Catherine Kane
Catherine is a Senior Instructional Designer and eLearning Training co-ordinator for eLearning (CAPSL) at Trinity College. Catherine holds a Masters degree in Information Technology in Education from Trinity College Dublin. She offers support and consultancies to Academic staff who are integrating technology into their teaching and learning. She also runs a schedule of eLearning training events for staff on designing, developing and implementing eLearning. Her research interests include technology enhanced learning, eModerating on-line activities, social and informal learning. She presented papers at EdTech2010 and IUISC 2010. At IUISC 2010 her presentation was voted into the top 10 presentations of the conference by the delegates. |
Dr. Anne Markey
Anne has been providing support for postgraduates involved in various teaching roles in College since 2007. She has been delivering and developing the accredited Teaching and Learning Module since its introduction in 2009. She also delivers stand-alone workshops for postgraduate demonstrators and teaching assistants on aspects of their teaching and on topics relating to the publication of their research. Anne holds a PhD in English and also teaches in the School of English. |
Ms. Valerie Shanley
Valerie Shanley has been the Executive Officer in eLearning since September 2011. Her responsibilities include frontline support for Blackboard Learn, dealing with queries from lecturing and student users. Valerie is also the web author for the eLearning webpages, communications, and promotion of the service. Her background is in journalism. |
