The Buildings Office facilitates the inspection of buildings, services and specified equipment by the College insurers and their agents. Insurance Inspections are managed by the Services Engineer reporting to the Buildings Officer. Contact can be made with the Help Desk on ext 1828 in the first instance.

Academic Units may use the service for specific equipment (lifting gear, pressure vessels etc). In facilitating timely inspections and co-ordinating with occupiers we try to minimise disruption. The service is available during normal office hours.

This service is limited to Buildings, building services and specified major plant. It excludes departmental equipment, fumecupboards, furniture and vehicles. There is no charge to Schools/Departments for this service. However, if an academic unit request the Buildings Office arrange inspections of their equipment, this will be charged for.

To be considered, all completed applications should be returned to their Dean/COO by April 6th. Dean's/COO's prioritised applications must be submitted to the Director of Buildings Office no later than the 13th of April 2012.
