Flora of Thailand and surrounding countries

Collecting a new genus – KhaosokiaThe flora of mainland S.E. Asia is very poorly known. Members of the group have made significant contributions to its documentation. This has been achieved through collecting activity in S.E. Asia and subsequent production of floristic or monographic accounts. Recent work includes revisions / monographs of the families Araliaceae, Annonaceae, Apocynaceae, Clusiaceae, Hypericaceae, Myrtaceae, Lamiaceae, Lentibulariaceae, Orobanchaceae, Plantaginaceae, Polygalaceae, Santalaceae and Vitaceae for the Flora of Thailand and Polygalaceae for the Flora of China and Myrtaceae for Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. These revisions have been produced largely on the basis of orthodox morphological study of herbarium material but also incorporate significant elements of phylogenetic, phenetic, SEM and molecular study. Current work is concentrating on the Gramineae of Thailand and systematics of Embellia (Myrsinaceae) and Camellia (Theaceae) in mainland SE Asia.
