Biodiversity and Conservation

Many of the staff within Botany have expertise in biodiversity and conservation. Major collaborative projects focussing on Irish biodiversity and conservation such as

SIMBIOSYS (directs you to an external web site)
are led by members of the Botany staff. In addition, there is considerable expertise and research on tropical biodiversity in Central America, SE Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Research is augmented by the Herbarium and Trinity College Botanic Garden houses (Trevor Hodkinson, Daniel Kelly, Fraser Mitchell, John Parnell, Jane Stout, Stephen Waldren)
