Bird phenology
The timing of phenological events, such as migration and egg-laying, in bird development are excellent indicators of climate change due to the influence of temperature on these events. Our research activity focuses on examining historic records of arrival times of spring migrants to Ireland in order to detect any trends that may be correlated with changing spring temperature. In addition, we intend to use corticosterone and stable isotopes in feathers to examine changing patterns of food resources.
