How to get to Trinity College Dublin:

Dublin Airport is situated approximately 10km north of the city centre. There is only one international airport in Dublin.

A taxi from the airport to the city centre will cost approx €30 and takes about 30 minutes; it may take considerably longer depending on traffic. It is always advisable to get an estimate of the fare to your destination before you get in a taxi and you should be provided with a printed receipt when you pay.

Aircoach is an additional bus company, not listed on the above link, that travels directly from Dublin airport and will drop you off at the entrance to Trinity College by Grafton street.

Car from Airport: Car rental companies such as Hertz, Argus, Avis and Europcar etc are all available from the Airport. Please be aware that there will be no parking facilities available to delegates on the Trinity College campus.

Both high speed and conventional ferries operate between the UK and Dublin (Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire), Rosslare (95km) and Belfast (165km). Conventional ferries operate from France to either Rosslare or Cork (256km). For further information, please contact www.irishferries.com or www.stenaline.com

Accomodation Options:

There is a block of rooms reserved at the Maldron Hotel. The Maldron is a four star hotel in the heart of Dublin, 5 minutes walk to Trinity. The hotel has a pool, exercise facilities, complimentary internet and a restaurant and bar. Room rates are 85 € a night for a single occupancy room and 100 € a night for a double occupancy room, both of which includes tax and breakfast. You must use the reference name to get the conference rate and this rate is available until May 28th, 2010.

There is also a block of rooms reserved at Jury's Inn Customs House Quay. Jury's Inn is right on the north side of the river Liffey, 10 minutes walk to Trinity. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and wireless internet. The room rate is 70 € for a double room for single occupancy and includes tax and breakfast. This offer is available until May 28th and dependant on availability so if you wish to take this offer please make your reservation by emailing Zdenek Nosek at Jurys Inn and quoting the reference code ‘Phenology Conference’.

There are rooms also at Trinity Capital Hotel. Trinity Capital Hotel is located on Pearse Street, across the street from Trinity College. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and wireless internet. The room rate is 69 € for a room or 79 € for a room and breakfast. Please make your reservation by calling Lisa Maloney (00-353-01-648-1074) and quoting the reference code ‘Phenology 2010 Conference’.

If you choose to stay elsewhere there are multiple options to choose from with many hotels, bed and breakfasts and hostels in the city (Dublin Tourism). Trinity College is located at Collge Green, Dublin 2 if you are searching for other accomodation close to the campus.
