Botany staff and graduates feature in new television and radio series

The first episode of RTE’s new series The Secrets of the Irish Landscape on was broadcast on Sunday 5th of May. The programme explored the origins of the Irish flora and featured four current members of the School of Natural Sciences feature (Pete Coxon, Robin Edwards, Donna Hawthorne and Fraser Mitchell) but there are also major contributions from past members of the Botany Department:  Matthew Jebb, Conor Meade, Colin Kelleher and Bettina Stefanini. The next episode (to be broadcast on 12 May) is currently being edited and features Micheline Sheehy Skeffington.

Also on aired last Sunday on RTE Radio 1 was the first in a 10 part radio series, Nature on One. This natural history series presented by Colin Stafford Johnson,  will take listeners across Ireland to explore some of Irelands most important habitats, and learn more about the animals and plants that inhabit them. This series will also feature current staff in School of Natural Sciences.
