Resources and Facilities

The school is equipped with a range of major items of equipment including a Protein X-ray crystallography facility, FACScan, Taqman, a confocal microscope, a DNA sequencer, sophisticated spectroscopy instruments, a molecular graphics facility, a gamma irradiator, MALDI ToF and QTRAP Mass Spectrometers and extensive cell culture and biohazard suites. The School runs a 600MHz NMR with a cryoprobe in collaboration with the School of Chemistry. This strong modern instrumentation base is mostly funded from research sources.
