Research Interests
- The genetics and biochemistry of neural tube defects in relation to folate and other vitamins.
- The genetics and biochemistry of orofacial clefts.
- Maternal risk of NTD in relation to status of folate or other vitamins
- Homocysteine as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease
- Homocysteine lowering by folic acid
- Folate catabolism; the effect of diet, pregnancy and implications for the Recommended Dietary Allowances.
