Main Area of Interest
My research is concentrated on the nuclear receptor fo Androgens and Glucocorticoids. Those receptors are important is a range of diseases from prostate cancer to autoimmune disease regulation.The aim of the project is to test novel compounds in a number of biological assays to identify lead compounds for further optimisation.
I am also involved in a project to find novel mimetics that will block the interaction of SMAC and XIAP, a pathway involved in many cancers that blocks apoptosis of cell during chemotherapy
