Information for Speakers and Session Chairs
Information for Speakers
(a) Please note the time allocations as follows:
(b) Due to the tight lecture schedule, presentations must be given to us well in advance of lectures (no later than the day before). Ideally, all presentations should be in powerpoint (.ppt) format.
We would like the talks emailed to us at email@example.com in advance of the conference (we will acknowledge receipt) but advise that you bring a backup copy with you. It may not be possible to email files larger than 6MB, these can be brought on a portable device. Talks not emailed in advance must be given to us the day before presentation for loading on our system. If you are bringing your talk on a portable device please use a USB stick or CD (no floppys or zip discs).
We will provide facilities for you to preview/edit your talk before presentation. PC facilities will be available in the lecture theatres; Macs will not be available in the theatres.
(c) Please note that Raised abstracts are abstracts that have been raised from poster abstracts to talks and thus will NOT be allocated Poster Space
Information for Session Chairs
(a) EBEC 2008 has a tight lecture schedule and the role of Session Chairmen is crucially important to the smooth running of the Conference, particularly in light of the fact that there are parallel symposia and delegates may wish to switch from lectures in one symposium to those in another.
(b) Only a brief introductory statement is required
(c) You are to give a “5 minutes to end of talk” signal to all speakers
(d) At least two conference employees will be present in the Theatre to facilitate the smooth running of the session. They will also carry the roving microphones to delegates who wish to ask questions
